Helping Earthquake and Tsunami Victims

    Serving Earthquake and Tsunami Victims
in American Samoa and South Pacific

Due to the nature and the location of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in American Samoa and the South Pacific, relief agencies have indicated the best way for individuals and groups to render service is to provide financial assistance.

The American Red Cross stated that “monetary financial contributions allow us to support the greatest needs in the most efficient manner. Cash can be used to purchase items such as tents and blankets in the region, and eliminate the added costs in transporting goods. Cash also allows the purchase of culturally appropriate items in the country, and stimulates the devastated economy.”

Those interested in providing such assistance may do so by contacting the following entities:

    American Red Cross:

    LDS Humanitarian Services:
     (801) 240 – 1779. Monetary donations accepted over the phone or through the “Humanitarian” section on the tithing slip.
